About

The Unspoken is a collection of pictures and commentary to express some of the things that we find so hard to say in our work and in our lives.

The pictures, by Julian Burton, are drawn (literally) from over 10 years using visual dialogue to help businesses to make sense of complex ideas.

The words, by Sam Deeks, a specialist in marketing, communication and feedback, are a call to action – to change.

Julian and Sam have worked together since 1996 on a wide range of corporate communication and change projects. Their mission is to balance the intellectual and the emotional – the head and the body – in business.

The pictures in this site are freely available for you to use in a providing they show the ‘©www.theunspoken.co.uk’ attribution.

Burton and Deeks (aka ‘Mr. Speak and Mr. Do’) believe that theoretical complexity around organisational change is just a well-dressed way of avoiding action.

Change isn’t hard because its complex. It isn’t. It’s simple.

Change is hard because we don’t want to do it.
